Takashi Murakami1962
Chef de fil du mouvement d'art contemporain " Superflat", docteur de l'Université Nationale des Beaux Arts et de Musique de Tokyo, Takashi Murakami est reconnu comme l'un des artistes contemporains les plus influents. Ses créations ont été exposées dans de nombreux musées, et ses collaborations avec des marques institutionnelles comme Louis Vuitton ou Perrier ont définitivement figé son nom dans l'histoire contemporaine.
Inspiré par le manga et la culture Kawaii (terme japonais qui signifie mignon), Takashi Murakami tente de brouiller la frontière entre l'art populaire et "le grand art". Ses oeuvres sont imprégnées par des personnages à la fois monstrueux et charmants, inspirés par les mythes japonais.
Murakami ne se limite pas à son travail purement artistique. Il multiplie les rôles: agent de jeunes artistes, commissaire d'expositions, conférencier,...A travers sa société internationale Kaikai Kiko Co., il diffuse son art en fabricant en masse des produits dérivés.
